Five Favorite Brands

Going into this week’s twitter assignment, I assumed that it would be pretty difficult to get a big company to respond back to my tweets. However, I found that it was not really difficult at all. To begin, I sent out a tweet in which I tagged the five brands that I loved. These five brands were Lululemon, an athletic/leisure wear clothing and accessories company, Netflix, a popular video streaming service, Chick-fil-a, a fast food restaurant, Dunkin Donuts, a coffee/donut shop, and Target, a large multipurpose store. After I sent out this first tweet simply stating five brands that I love, Lululemon immediately responded to me, tweeting back “we’re feelin’ the love.” Next I went on to mention each of my five brands in five separate tweets. These tweets mainly consisted of me praising each of the brands. I talked about the comfort of Lululemon leggings, the great iced coffee at Dunkin Donuts, the wide array of useful items at target, my love/hate relationship with the Chick-fil-a on campus, and my slight obsession and overuse of Netflix. After sending out these five tweets, I once again only got a response from Lululemon, which was “Comfort is key.” I waited a day and then sent out one more tweet to each of the five brands I chose to see if I could get a response from another brand. For target, Netflix, and Chick-fil-a, my second tweets to each of these brands were pretty similar to the first ones that I sent out to them. However, I tried to switch it up a bit for Dunkin Donuts by asking them a question. Every year on international coffee day, Dunkin Donuts gives away free iced coffee. Naturally, being the coffee addict that I am, this is one of my favorite days of the year. So I decided to tweet at them asking when national coffee day was. This, however, did not work either and I never got a response. My last tweet to Lululemon was about how they were the only brand that tweeted back to me, and they once again responded saying, “What can we say, we’re chatterboxes.” So out of 11 tweets to five different brands, I got three responses back, which were all from the same brand, Lululemon.
