This advertisement is depicting Lego Princess Leia holding hands with an Ewok as Han Solo (I think it’s Han Solo) looks on in the background holding a flower. The audience for this advertisement would be children who play with Legos, as well as fans of the Star Wars franchise that would get these Legos as somewhat of a novelty gift. The purpose of this advertisement is to advertise the Lego Star Wars collection in hopes that fans of either Legos or Star Wars will buy these products. The mode for this advertisement is digital and the media is an image. However, the mode could also be print if this advertisement was made into a poster or something like that. The rhetorical appeal used in this specific advertisement is pathos. The central love story throughout the first 3 Star Wars films (episodes IV, V, and VI) as well as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, was between Han Solo and Princess Leia. This advertisement is playing on fans of the franchise’s emotions by showing Leia walking off with an Ewok and leaving Han Solo behind. There is also a bit of a comedic aspect to this ad because this scenario would never actually happen in one of the movies. The style and design of this ad is very plain, as the central focus of the advertisement is the three Lego characters. However, the bright red background is an eye catching color that will most likely draw people to the ad. This ad could be remediated into a short animated commercial that shows Princess Leia leaving Han Solo for an Ewok or a commercial of kids playing with these Lego characters and reenacting this scene.
